I’m back from my Australian tour, and thought I should drop a note about the Sydney event. It was a fun weekend with lots of good sessions and it was nice to hear some presentations and questions from some different people. I once again discussed built-in SQL Server high availability, but this time added a spin based on the experiences we’ve had in Christchurch with a real natural disaster thrown into the mix. This was quite well received as it asked different questions. We had things like servers randomly going down because there was no power on site so things only ran until diesel generators ran out and needed refilling!
Quality sessions as always, but also nice to have worked out of the Melbourne and Sydney offices for a week and meet some people face to face instead of over conference calls.
